Feb 26, 2008 Dark brown with a tan head. Dark wheat and rye bread aromas. Medium body and smooth. Good taste of smooth blackened malts and other yeasty bread grains here. Very easy drinking; not overly sweet, syrupy or alcoholic like some DB’s. Really enjoyed this one.457

Jan 30, 2008 Draft @ Uber. Dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is malty, light caramel. Taste is chocolate, caramel, wheat and cream.

Jan 28, 2008 This beer is starting to grow on me. It’s dangerously drinkable and will sneak up on you and kick your ass( it has with mine a few times). I would love to see this with some more rich melanoidin sweetness to balance out the roastiness and increase the body. It doesn’t change the fact that I really enjoy drinking a big mug of this beer!

Jan 19, 2008 Y’alls nuts. Baron comes through like a mofo with the Liberator. Quite possibly the best doppelbock I have ever had. It’s flavors are subtle and balanced and there’s not much to the finish... because it’s a LAGER! If you think this beer is mediocre, you should rethink what it means to be a "beer enthusiast"

Dec 14, 2007 rich dark campfire aroma, lively head swelled to over 2 fingers but fell to a whisper. dark, dark brown in color, looks light in weight. full bodied and nutty like a brown ale. yummy chewy lager.

Dec 3, 2007 Dark brown with no head. Aroma is roasted malt and sweet chocolate. The flavor is sweet and roasty. A little dry and somewhat crisp in the finish, but is a pretty creamy lager. Decent.

Aroma – Deep roasty malt aroma. The spices and flavors where very rich.
Appearance – Dark brown, clear with a thin tan head.
Flavor – A deep malty flavor with some great spices in there also. I loved the deep flavors of the beer as it warmed up.
Palate – A deep rich beer with some great flavors on the tounge. This finished quite nice.
Overall –A great Doppel I liked this beer very much. Lots of after esters and spices left for the great experience. A great winter style brew.

Oct 4, 2007 Poured a clear dark brown color with a small off-white head. The aroma had moderate amounts of coffee and roast with a hint of ash. The flavor was roasty with coffee. Very thin body.
