| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 1, 2008 22oz from Bottletrek. Clear amber pour with crisp carbonation, minimal fizzy head. Fairly mild smoke aroma with hints of sea salt. Not much of a malt presence to me, and the body is fairly thin. The salty flavors give the brew a slightly dank finish which tends to undermine the smoky qualities a bit too much. Okay, but nothing to prevent another Aecht Schlenkera purchase. anders37 (4792), Malmö, Sweden

Malty bready and smokey flavor. Slightly sweetish malty smokey finish with some bready hints. robforbes (1105), Bremerton, Washington, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 9, 2008 pours semi-clear amber-orange with a small off-white head that doesn’t last that long.
smell is of smoke, but not as much as a smoked porter or any other darker brews, more like a smoked salmon, some spiciness to it, pepper, some malt in the back.
taste is somewhat watery, tastes like it smells, smoked salmon dip with onions, light on the malt, few hops, ends oily and smokey.
overall very unique but don’t think i can have much of this one. troopie (903), USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 7, 2008 Bottle. Pured smoky amber with white fast dissipating head. Aroma of smoke, malt and sea. Flavour of smoke, like a good smoked ham, with malty sweetness. Lasting finish, mor smoke and saltiness. (I do not know it tastes a bit salty. I’m sure they don’t put salt in it." Definitely worth trying again. I wonder how it is on draught. Bradrcr (781), Renton, Washington, USA

Aroma is classic german smoked malt through and through. Appearance is hazy gold with a moderate maintained off white head. Flavor is smoked roast malt forward with a sour finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a spritzy carb texture. Overall, not a strong rausch but quite refreshing. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 28, 2008 Poured a hazed golden yellow with an off-white head. Smoky caramel aroma. The flavor also of caramel malt and a mild smoke. Not bad but nothing that stands out. SledgeJr (2983), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 28, 2008 In the bomber bottle from Seattle Bottleworks. Pours a light amber/ dark gold color with a thin white head. The aroma is of intense smoke- not Bamberg campfire intensity, but a really pleasant roasted meat variety. This is the best feature of the beer by far. The flavor is very disappointing and lapses into a thin and simple lager. No meatiness, nothing chewy and certainly not smoky enough for me. The body is quite watery. Overall, I can do without this one, but she sure smells nice. puzzl (2648), New York, New York, USA
