| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 7, 2007 Thanks 5000. Pours dead looking dark brown, whatever foam there is dissipates almost automatically. Aroma is spicy phenolics not backed up by anything else, comes off isopropanol like. Taste is light banana with a mineral finish. The body is way too thin and the beer comes off as a watered down mess. Could be nice with some body and a bit more backbone to the beer. It’s not undrinkable just badly crafted, could not drink much of it. 22oz bottle, St Paul tulip/snifter glass. BeerandBlues2 (3230), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 21, 2007 GABF ’07. Pours clear, dark yellow with a small, rocky, off-white head with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, hay, straw, roasted grain), light hops (grass), average yeast (dough, barnyard) with notes of banana. Light bodied, thin textured, average carbonation, and a metallic finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness. after4ever (2809), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 5, 2007 22. Pours brown, but in a wide enough glass it certainly looks black. Thin, dingy off-white head. Bold nose, especially for a lager: roasty, tangy cola-nutty, CO2, a little bit of sweet brown bread. The CO2 gives it what in a less generous moment I sometimes refer to as "that lager smell."
Medium body and lightly tingly carb. All the olfactory notes return right from the jump--the attack’s loaded with the bread, nuts, roast, and metallic co2ishness. They carry right through the mid-palate and leave in a light wash of cola sticking to the back of the tongue. Not quite what I had been led to believe. Not sure I’d come back to this one, even though it’s a big, bold, fairly interesting beer with no obvious flaws. CapFlu (3483), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 15, 2007 GCBF sample. Very dark brown. Good starting head sinks quickly. Dusty chocolate aroma. Tasty dusty chocolate with banana undertones. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 20, 2007 Poured a deep dark mahogany brown hue with a small foamy white head. Sweet malty, nutty nose with a warming full-bodied refreshing sweet and crisp flavor. Notes of wheat, chocolate, and lemon. Unique and interesting brew. Yum! Ernest (4501), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 18, 2007 Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (popcorn, caramel, husks), with light notes of gum and clove. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively/soft carbonation. Quite crude and rather unpleasant. dwyerpg (2545), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Aug 1, 2007 Has a bad sour aroma. Flavor is also soure with a bad metallic bite. A thin finish leaves this beer truly disappointing.
