Aroma is very heavy wheat, chocolate, light roastiness. Taste is a light chocolate, with wheat, and very light grapefruit. Pretty bland for a 8.5% beer, but the 8.5% doesn’t show at all, so come to your own conclusion... Mouthfeel is pretty nice though. Gregis (1135), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 10, 2007 Bottle shared by thesti at the csbosox tasting on 7/3. Pours a hazy, root beer brown with a tiny off-white head. Banana, cloves, chocolate and raisins are on the nose, and the mouthfeel is light to medium-bodied, slick and clean on the finish. The flavor is comprised of sweet wheat, citrus and banana with a touch of sourness. Had the flavor matched the nose, this would have been a great beer. Unfortunately it didn’t, but it was an interesting beer nevertheless. Thanks for bringing this one Tim. theisti (1692), Leawood, Kansas, USA

Pour is a partially hazy brown orange with almost no head (khaki, what there was of it). Aroma is sweet and banana-caramel malt. Taste is more of the caramel - chocolate sweetness but there is something metallic in the taste as well. Very drinkable, but something just a touch off. tjthresh (1781), Greenfield, Indiana, USA

The beer pours with shades fo brown, red, and purple. Not much head to speak of. The aroma and flavor featured banana, clove, raisin, chocolate, and some hot alcohol. Sort of a watery fizzy body. Not bad, but not on par with the handfull of other weizen bocks that I’ve had. Deep amber, small white head. Pungent nose, some bananas and cloves. Good start with nice weizen notes but quickly dies on the palette. Aftertaste is pleasant but very short. I love this style but his doesn’t quite do it. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 12, 2007 Brown ebony color, off white head and nice lacing. Nose is sweet with hop and alcohol, nice caramel malts. The flavor is nice and balanced, more toward the belgian side. Balanced, very little wheat. Nice. TAR (2095), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 4, 2007 Ruddy mahogany. Rocky dirty-white head clings with each sip. Fruity esters reminiscent of plum, black currants, and raisins are mirrored by plastic-like phenols and very light hints of burnt popcorn. Scrubbing effervescence. Invigorating tartness is swept away by overabundant graininess and a dry edge of roastiness. Rather supple and juicy with green banana and raisin flavors, but equally mushy and limp as well. Flavorsome yeast coats the palate but is unable to absorb the persistent graininess which is amplified by the notes of iron. Soft bubblegum lends depth of flavor and texture, though it finds itself mostly buried beneath the harsh phenols. Wheat takes on an enticing vivid sweetness which echoes the nuanced caramelized Munich notes, as the beer warms. Finishes with hints of green banana, caramel, and chocolate, but slightly flabby and grainy with an irony tartness that lingers. Minus the mild burnt-popcorn aromas, the aroma is very pleasant. Yeast could use more coaxing, but it’s very light on its feet considering its weight, and fairly nuanced overall. Less graininess would also help. Pretty respectable. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 23, 2007 Bottle: Pours a muddy chestnut color with a medium beige head. Nose is a bit fruity, malt, earthy, and wheat tones. The taste is more thorough in the malt arena with underlying wheat and fruit notes. Tangy, dry finish. Thanks Jordan.
