Commercial Description:
The Uber-Weisse is a traditional WeizenStarkbier. Similar to other wheat doppelbocks, this is high in alocohol and complex in flavor. Slights notes of roast, chocolate, banana and sweetness. 8.5% in strength. Very balanced with a big full body or wheat and malt. Very smooth and easy to drink.

Much thanks to hopdog. I’m obviously behind on my notes here, as I tried this on 5/6/07... Appears a dark mahogany with a small, off-white head that slowly fades out. Scattered streaks of lacing are left around the glass. A small cap and hearty collar sticks around. Smell is of banana, clove, cherries, caramel, and dusty, wet wheat. Taste is of the mentioned aromas with an intense caramelized malt mixed with wheat germ. Mouthfeel is balanced, medium/full bodied, creamy with cherries, caramel, & sugar. Nothing over the top here. Very drinkable.

22oz bottle acquired in trade with Larry Pitonka (thanks!). Poured a deep brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of wheat (like a wet wheatiness), roast, earthy, trace of bananas, and clove. Tastes of wheat, lighter roast, chocolate, light bananas, and cloves. Light tart finish. I like the way the bananas and cloves were not in your face.

Draft at Duck Island. Pours a murky amber with a fluffy off-white head. Aroma of fruit, wheat, chocolate and bubblegum. Medium body and light-ish carbonation. The taste is a liquid banana split, with bananas, chocolate, and nuts. Manages to pull of a pretty clean finish.

Pous a reddish brown with a thin head. Aromas of banana, clove and bubblegum. Tastes of banana ,clove and berries of some sort, hint of alcohol at first. Good full crisp mouthfeel. A good beer.

On tap at Brouwer’s, Seattle. DIdn’t know what to expect with this one. Tasted like a weissbeer, with some yeasty notes and a biscuity flavor, but the dark color and slightly thicker palate made it much heavier than expected.

The usual Washington State preference for hops is well found here, blooms into it’s full flavour soon enough. I like weissbeers as a rule, and this one is no exception.

GCBF. Poured nice lemony hazy colour. Excellent head with super aroma. Watermelon biscuit is best description for this smell. Mouthfeel was a bit thin and acid, but the tastes were great for this style. Very fruity with pear and plum tastes complimenting the acid watermelon taste. Biscuit malt flavour finish. An excellent example of this style.

Lasting off-white head covers the hazy copper to brown solution. Immediately pleasant biscuity nose includes plenty of fruity undertones, ranging from fig to melon and prune. The wheatiness is certainly well included bringing most welcomed cracker hints, though perhaps sweetening it all a bit too much. Slightly tart, but refreshing. Quite well executed I may say, but I dig the style naturally, so Im a bit easy Id think…
