Commercial Description:
The Uber-Weisse is a traditional WeizenStarkbier. Similar to other wheat doppelbocks, this is high in alocohol and complex in flavor. Slights notes of roast, chocolate, banana and sweetness. 8.5% in strength. Very balanced with a big full body or wheat and malt. Very smooth and easy to drink.

On tap, this is a large and complex uber-weiss. Dark brown with a foamy off white head. Aroma is bready, with some wheat, cloves, banana and earthy. Flavour is rich with lots of malt flavour. Also some nice wheat balance. Finishes strong with lots of spice and bready malts. A great ur-weiss.

22oz bottle acquired in trade with Larry Pitonka (thanks!). Poured a deep brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of wheat (like a wet wheatiness), roast, earthy, trace of bananas, and clove. Tastes of wheat, lighter roast, chocolate, light bananas, and cloves. Light tart finish. I like the way the bananas and cloves were not in your face.

Cola colored with a fleeting khaki head. Nice tart wheat malt and multi grain bread smell. Medium body and smooth. Strong taste of caramel. wheat, and roasted malts here with a mild bitterness to finish. Not too sweet like many dopplebocks. Very easy drinking. 12207

Much thanks to hopdog. I’m obviously behind on my notes here, as I tried this on 5/6/07... Appears a dark mahogany with a small, off-white head that slowly fades out. Scattered streaks of lacing are left around the glass. A small cap and hearty collar sticks around. Smell is of banana, clove, cherries, caramel, and dusty, wet wheat. Taste is of the mentioned aromas with an intense caramelized malt mixed with wheat germ. Mouthfeel is balanced, medium/full bodied, creamy with cherries, caramel, & sugar. Nothing over the top here. Very drinkable.

Bottle shared by thesti at the csbosox tasting on 7/3. Pours a hazy, root beer brown with a tiny off-white head. Banana, cloves, chocolate and raisins are on the nose, and the mouthfeel is light to medium-bodied, slick and clean on the finish. The flavor is comprised of sweet wheat, citrus and banana with a touch of sourness. Had the flavor matched the nose, this would have been a great beer. Unfortunately it didn’t, but it was an interesting beer nevertheless. Thanks for bringing this one Tim.

Dark brown with a red hue and a creamed top. Intriguing mix of German wheat yeast, wheat, and light roastiness in the nose topped off by a touch of banana. Flavor is full of wheat and phenolics with prominent chocolate banana presence, balanced nicely by heavy, musky clover. Full-bodied mouthfeel. A different take on the weizenbock, which I enjoyed.

GCBF sample. Very dark brown. Good starting head sinks quickly. Dusty chocolate aroma. Tasty dusty chocolate with banana undertones.
