Bottle. Pours orange/copper, with an off white head. Aroma is a little odd...malt, nuts, and I guess, wattle. Flavor is malt, spices, and nuts. Medium body. Decent.

Nov 24, 2009 Bottle. A nutty red-brown, small beige head. Cereal malts, nuts and seed nose. Robust caramel and dull chocolate taste with interesting earthy nutty notes, presumably from the wattle. I was expecting either not to taste the exotic ingredient or for it to be some hideous novelty piece of Australiana - it’s a pleasant surprise to find it’s neither.

Nov 19, 2009 Bottle - Reddish, clear, Thin beige head. Roasted malt aroma and flavour with caramel, dark fruit, smoke and a bit woody/nuttiness (perhaps from the Acacia) . Maybe a hint of alcohol coming through. Smooth, full bodied, with medium carbonation.

Nov 17, 2009 Bottle. Pours with a small white head over a clear nut brown body. A light cookie malt aroma. Alcoholic/solvent-caramel biscuit taste with a background of subtle bitterness. Quite light bodied and softly carbonated. Different.

Nov 6, 2009 330ml bottle, 5.8% ABV (labelled "Black Wattle Original Ale"). Pours dark orangey-brown with a medium tan head that provides a poor lace. Malt-driven aromas of nutty roasted caramel and cafe mocha. Quite sweet on the tongue with burnt brown sugar and nuts being the predominant flavours. A hint of cherries in there somewhere. Velvety smooth mouthfeel with a medium to full body but not rich and filling. Nice drop.

Oct 9, 2009 Pours a coppery red with a small dissipating head.
Aroma is similar to that of a dark ale, with toasted grains and a certain creamy nutty note, but it’s too faint. Nice though.
Similar dark malt flavours, with lingering nutty notes, a slight peppery hint and a mild earthy bitter finish.
Good creamy carbonation, but slightly too high.
Interesting, but needs to be bolder!
