(bottle - 330 ml) Dark amber in color with a tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty with a grainy hint at the end. Not much hops. Flavor is sweet and caramelly with a flavor I couldn’t put my finger on, which I’m going to assume was the wattle seed. Very good hints of caramel and some cocoa near the end with a smooth malty finish. Almost like a thin porter.

Aug 29, 2008 An interesting attempt but not one I would be rushing back for. Aroma is different but probably because you are looking for it. Not that keen on the after-taste as it tends to linger.

does not count  Aug 29, 2008 I’m really quite surprised...I mean i didn’t even know what a wattle was before tonight. Very nutty and almost roasted. I really enjoyed it. It’s different and I can respect that. Good work Barons....

Aug 27, 2008 From a bottle poured brown with a good amount of head. Very subtle sweet flavor with a quick finish.

Aug 26, 2008 Alefest sample. Usually I see Spice/Herb/Vegetable and I am hesitant but this was the overall surprise for me during Alefest. Aroma of caramel, and wheat grass was actually pretty good. Flavor was mostly sweet with some very subtle bitterness. Good mouthfeel and carbonation. This wasn’t a bombshell but was really quite enjoyable.

Aug 25, 2008 Pours a reddish amber. Sweet and malt, with notes of earthiness and caramel. What I’m geussing is wattle seed gives it a funky nutty flavor. Overall not very interesting.
