lgklotet (420), Singapore, Singapore May 19, 2009 Can. Pours a viscous blonde, head gone in an instant. Sweet aroma, I swear I got some champagne in the nose.. Taste has detracting metallic twang, not so bad as expected though. Quite bitter. Alcohol definetely present. Didn’t drainpour.. actually finished the whole damn thing... But the slightly weaker version at 8 or so % is a whole lot better. TerenceHua (87), , Singapore Feb 25, 2009 Rich and full bodied. Complex character and decent scents. Very hard on the palate though. Despite its potential and promise, I do not find it an easy beer to handle, much less appreciate. It’s very hard to reconcile all the palate reactions. This brew taxes the tongue and throat, not to mention the brain too. Unrefreshing. A bit like knocking your head on the wall. Ungstrup (15004), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 5, 2008 Bottled. A golden beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of cardboard and alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of alcohol, which leaves a slight burn on the palate. Too simple. ThomasE (5179), Copenhagen, Denmark Feb 25, 2008 Golden colour with a white head. malty, grainy, light fruity sweet aroma. malty, grainy sweet flavor with bread and alcohol sweet notes. yespr (11901), Copenhagen O, Denmark Dec 14, 2007 From can, no 9 at Papsoes blindtasting. Pours clear and with a golden yellow to orange colour and with lacing white head. Malty and slight sweet almondish aroma. Full bodied. Sweet flavour, slight metallic. The marzipan/almond flavoured notes are quite subdued in the flavour. Ends mild metallic and solid alcohol warming. Nice. Papsoe (14791), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 5, 2007 (Can 50 cl) Courtesy of fiulijn. Clear, golden with an off-white head - some tiny impurities. Very sweet, malty nose with a distinct alcohol. Quite full-bodied, sweetish malty with a burning alcohol in the finish. No bitterness though. Still a fairly drinkable Malt Liquor. 301107 Emil (6074), Copenhagen, Denmark Dec 4, 2007 Can. A pale golden beer with a white head. The aroma is light sweet malty, the taste is sweet malty, light caramel and almon. Medium body with a sweet light alcoholic finish. Grovlam (3805), Copenhagen, Denmark Dec 4, 2007 #9 [Blind tasting session @ Papsoe 30-11-2007] Small fizzy white head that quickly was goon. Clear flat looking body with a pale golden color. Fair lacework. Aroma of grain, caramel, toffee and bread. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and light dry texture. Moderated sweet flavor. Sweet bread like finish. Alex thinks it has 7.5% alcohol. René thinks it is a Helle bock
