KAggie97 (1924), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Jun 7, 2008 Bottle Pours an average golden yellow with a thin and semi-lively body. Aroma of bread, malted cherry, and slight isopryl alcohol. Watery mouthfeel. Typical lager swill.
Tejas (606), Dallas, Texas, USA Oct 4, 2008 Kinda sweet & malty for a lager. Needs more bite. Not terrible or offensive but not greta either. Below average. One and done. blutt59 (798), Dallas, Texas, USA Sep 24, 2008 bottle, clear golden pour, good foamy head, nondescript nose, flavor of wet cardboard, malts and some spice, finish is thick and plain AmEricanbrew (1018), Swamp Shreveport, Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Sep 19, 2008 Clear golden with a frothy white head. Mild aroma is spicy with pepper and dry pale malts. Medium body. Flavor is dusty pale malts with a spicy hoppy bite to finish. A dryish lager. Nice on a hot summer day. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Aug 12, 2008 15-Feb-08 (330-ml bottle, Best by 27-Aug-08: Purchased 09-Feb-08 for $1.99 at Ledger’s Liquors in Berkeley, CA) Rather flavorful for the style, but in this case, that’s not a good thing because this is not a pleasant tasting beer. Earth, wood, and dry, bitter twigs, but also some light sourness and a floral hop flavor that seems to clash with the dry maltiness. Fairly bitter and astringent finish makes the beer even less drinkable. Light-medium in body and carbonation, and quite dry and cottony on the palate. The nose seems woody and dry, but there’s enough hop character to elevate the nose to acceptability. The body is dark-golden in color and slightly hazy when first poured, but it clears up quickly, showing off the small carbonation bubbles that rise slowly through the beer for the entire session. White head pours small and settles to a thin ring. Overall, the hops presence is welcomed, but because of the unpleasant base flavor, it’s been a real struggle to drink this one. Reid (1001), Salem, Oregon, USA Aug 7, 2008 Deep golden colour, large thick white head.
Good aroma, mainlly malty with a nice grassy whiff of hops.
Malty flavour, not too sweet though, some hopping noticed at end.
Palate is acceptable for style and I like the fact it isnt "fizzy".
Overall a nice enough beer.
