Commercial Description:
Early Cincinnati brewers shipping their beers into Tennessee would generously hop their beer to prevent spoilage during the long, arduous trip over the Cumberland Trail. It’s been said that few barrels ever actually made it into Tennessee, as they were traded away for coonskin caps or simply enjoyed along the way! This classic India Pale Ale is a somewhat fruity brew, with an aggressive hop finish. To the hopheads of the world: we’ve brewed this one for you!

Nice looking beer, pouring a pale copper body with a thick, creamy head. Much lacing. The aroma’s sweet caramel covered with tart tangerine and zest of orange. The flavor’s a good balance between the malty sweetness and hop bitterness. Good sessionable ale.

Bottle. Small ivory head that mostly diminished, virtually no lacing, visible carbonation, transparent, and an orange hue. Nose was caramel, malty, sweet, and citrus hops. Flavor was sweet, bitter, malty, caramel, and citrus hops. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium body. A decent, quaffable APA and worthy of a try.

Draught @ Brewer’s Jam. Pours copper with a fair white head. There is a non-surprising aroma of grapefruit, caramel, and then a small hint of skunk. The flavor is very clean with a good piney hop presence and hint of green tea and caramel. This is not as aggressive as the commercial description would have us believe, but it does have adequate and well balanced flavor.

Pours a golden amber, with a thin head. Fairly malty aroma and not much in flavor. Not enough hops for an APA.

bomber thanks to Ohiodad. Pours a light amber with mod carbonation and a nice lasting white head. Aroma is nice thick sweet caramel malts then a light floral and citrus hop backbone. Flavor is a bit hoppy with nice ctrus tones, but the thing that really hits you is a sharp dark crystal malt character. Very well balanced pale ale. Good sweet mouthfeel and nice finish. Very tasty pale ale.

Light amber color with a big beige head. Aroma of caramel malt and mild citrus hops. Mild flavor of caamel malt, fruit and hops.

Slight amber in color with a decent white head that had some good lacing. Tasted of just a bit of hops, but some sweet tastes in there as well. Some fruity taste, but on the light side. Tasted a bit watered down, but very good none the less.

Clear light copper/amber with a small head. Hoppy aroma with pine, pith, and lemon pepper. Malty, bready sweetness in the flavor. Lingering hops and candied fruits. Touch of caramel
