Commercial Description:
Early Cincinnati brewers shipping their beers into Tennessee would generously hop their beer to prevent spoilage during the long, arduous trip over the Cumberland Trail. It’s been said that few barrels ever actually made it into Tennessee, as they were traded away for coonskin caps or simply enjoyed along the way! This classic India Pale Ale is a somewhat fruity brew, with an aggressive hop finish. To the hopheads of the world: we’ve brewed this one for you!

Pours yellow with a moderate, white head. Aroma was standardly hoppy. Mouthfeel was thinnish with an unexciting hop flavor. Not all that bad, but a bit sub-par for me.

Bright copper pour with a dark red tint. Real thick lasting tan head and some decent lacing. Plenty of fresh hops in the aroma, flowery with crisp malts. Robust and full bodied, it’s a hearty pale ale with a nice hop bite. Flavor has a good balance, heavy malty body that is biscuity with some minor caramel. Lots of Cascade hops that lend generous fruity, flowery, and bitter flavors. This is very nice.

fresh off my otter creek octoberfest debacle, i try to save the day by trying this apa. wary of cincy brewers i.e. sam adams i sniff... nothing here, then, taste nothing much aahh then in comes the hop and caramel.... not bad really! this is watery, i mean WATERY (where is the carbonation?) the head is good so what the &^#(!! anyway it’s main problem may be that it’s just too clean. fruit and generosity? just for that i won’t give it the 3. looks like a golden i dunno ballantine beer.

Bottle from Duane, this is my second brew from BarrelHouse that is over carbonated. Once it settled down, it reminded me of an English pale ale, more malt driven,on ok beer, drinkable once it settled. Thanks Duane!

Generously hopped would be a good way to describe this beer. Quite tasty. Will have to get more of this one when I get a chance.

Everyone at Bierkraft was raving about this one. So here goes. Pours a clear orange gold. Nose is hops. Perfumed pine ones with some citrus aspects in there too. Flavor is full and even. Consistent delivery of hoppy profile. Appropriate level of bitterness. Just a full body of flavor. Very good liquid body and the carbonation is very good as well. Overall, everyone at Bierkraft was right about this one. A very good APA that is definitely worth trying.

Very strong and crisp pine/citrus hop aroma, the beer pours amber, with about a finger of white head that fades down to a cap, leaving sheets of lacing on the sides of the glass. Strong hop bitterness riding over a touch of caramel malts. Extremely long bitter finish. This is something I’m very impressed with at under $4 a bomber. Great session ale.
