Commercial Description:
Early Cincinnati brewers shipping their beers into Tennessee would generously hop their beer to prevent spoilage during the long, arduous trip over the Cumberland Trail. It’s been said that few barrels ever actually made it into Tennessee, as they were traded away for coonskin caps or simply enjoyed along the way! This classic India Pale Ale is a somewhat fruity brew, with an aggressive hop finish. To the hopheads of the world: we’ve brewed this one for you!

Aroma is floral, citrus, sweet, but bitter. Flavor is very much the same but with a bigger punch of hops than I was expecting. It also has a thick malt body. I didnt expect much out of this local brew, but I think it may be the best "pale ale" ive had yet. Id put it in the IPA category if I was blind tasting this. My first Barrel House brew, and so far I love them. WHO DEY!

Pours a clear light amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of citrus hops, caramel, and some sweet malt. Not nearly the hop aroma I was expecting on this one, it’s present but not as much as I thought it would be. Begins with a slight yeasty flavor that gives way quickly to the citrus hops. After the hop flavor comes the sweet malts and caramel that finally gives way to a slightly bitter finish. Flavor was much better then the arom led on. Overall it’s decent but not quite everything I’m looking for.

Bottle from WBC.Pours copper amber color and it had a thin layer of white foam. Nose os a bit of this and a bit of that. Some hops for sure but not like really good Pale Ale. Still that mixed along with some pineapple notes.. not too bad. Man, this thing is very thin and has little flavor.

Well, here’s another letdown from my trip out east. Pours copper with a nice sized off-white head. The aroma has musty malt with some butter and wet grassiness. Medium body with some semi-soft carbonation. Taste starts with stale caramel malt adn wet cardboard - not exactly what I can spectacular. The finish has more cardboard and sourness. This was quite bad - I’d like to try a fresh bottle, but with no date listed how would one ever know?

bottle-thanks(?) to vyvvy for the sample here. pours dark copper hue with a small soapy white head. musty hops on the nose which shows a sign of oxidization. light butterscotch notes as well with some wet cardboard. flavors are dominated by the musty/ lightly earthy hops with some cookie like malt with wet cardboard notes in there as well. finish is somwhat resinous, but definately has oxidized flavors. could be a pretty decent pale when fresh.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a slightly hazy orange brown colored body. The strong aroma was hoppy. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of hops and caramel. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

Poured a slightly hazed orange color with a small almost white head. Citrusy fruity aroma with notes of oranges and grapefruit. Caramel malt shows up underneath. Malty and fruity flavor with a mix of apples and oranges. But the sweet part of the orange not acidic. Dry with a moderately bitter finish.

11/25/06: Bottle.
Sunset golden body with a minimal off-white head. Lace hugs glass. Hoppy aroma with a bit of floral. Clean hop flavor with some citrus and C-mas tree (hop variety possibly includes Cascade hops??). Finish is also clean and medium.
