Commercial Description:
In the hill country of eastern Ohio lie the geological treasures of Old Man's Cave, Conkels Hollow, and Cantwell Cliffs. Our Hefeweizen is a tribute to the natural wonder of these places; an authentic German Weissbier. This delicious beer is unlike anything you've ever tasted before! Hints of clove, banana, and vanilla are some of the flavors produced by the special strain of yeast we use. Because the beer is unfiltered, it becomes cloudy when chilled, in the traditional German way.

Draft sample at a Barrel House tasting at Teller’s of Hyde Park. Pours a hazy mustard tan color, almost like a grapefruit juice without any reddish tint. Aroma of banana, clove, bread, wheat, vanilla, and a little apple and citrus. Flavor follows suit really well- fruity, bready, and mildly spiced. Medium-full bodied and smooth, with a bready mouthfeel. Very nice hefe.

Bottle. Pours an apple juice body with a wispy bubbly head that diminishes to nothing with haste. Paper, apple, citric aroma. Dusty banana and clove with a lingering apple and bread y finish. Decent at best.

A lightly hazed gold pour with creamy off white head and lace. Rotten banana peel aroma mixed with bread dough. A yeasty, fruitiness, with a bready after taste. Carbonation was just over the top for me. Drinkable but not special.

Sampled at Beerhawk’s Beer Gods in the Boro, aka 1000 Bottles of Beer on the Wall, By God Beer God Gathering, BG1K Tasting. Hazy mustard pour. Lemon zest, a little tartness. Some musty spicy pepper in the aroma. Moderate carbonation. Pretty good as far as hefes go.

Bottle shared by decaturstevo. Poured a hazy yellow with a fizzy thin white head that left some light lace. Aromas of banana, bread dough, and yeast. The flavor found banana and light wheat. Medium body and fizzy carbonation.

BeerHawk’s Beer Gods in the Boro, aka 1000 Bottles of Beer on the Wall, By God Beer God Gathering, BG1K Tasting. Sample from a bottle thanks to decaturstevo. Clear yellow with a soft white head. Aroma is bready, yeasty, bananas, fruit. Prickly carbonation, no wheat heft in the body, sour lemons, citrus, bananas, and yeast.

bottle from columbus. had this late in the evening. it really didnt seem much like a hefeweizen at all. really carbonated, really sweet, almost no banana/clove character. kinda hoppy. i mean, it wasnt even horrible, but it wasnt really a hefeweizen. god knows how old it may have been.

Holy shit this beer was bad. I’m going to rate it anyway, but this bottle was horrible. It tasted like saurkraut. Broccoli and very sour citrus flavors. I’m convinced this was a bad bottle after looking at other reviews. Colour was a cloudy hazey golden colour with a very full white head.
