Pours a very bubbly, slightly hazy, yellow-gold with a small diminishing white head. Aroma: First thing that hits me is banana followed by more fruit, spices, some sweetness and yeast. Nice flavour of wheat, yeast, spices (mainly cloves), banana and some sweetness again. Finish is lightly bitter. Medium bodied. Refreshing and easy to drink, I liked it. Big wheat-and coriander aroma, really robust, with ample doses of yeast and orange rind and lesser of vanilla and banana. Cloudy golden pour with light-medium carbonation and a fizzy rocky head (and very noisy!). Taste is a balanced bittersweet, though bready rather than really bitter. Lots of wheat, clove, and yeast, in that order, but vanilla and the rest of the supporting cast also deliciously notable. Medium, malt-soaked body, smooth and lightly prickly at the tip of the tongue. Delicious (and a nice, completely hidden alcohol rate)! I was hesitant at first, but there’s no longer any use in holding back the praise: this is one of the best - and most authentic - Hefeweizen made in the United States. tupalev (2617), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Medium yellow, small white head. Decent aroma - light yeast, banana, lots of lemon. Good taste - again, lemon, banana, yeast. Medium bodied. Good stuff, a great way to start a tasting. jerc (3945), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Hazy golden yellow body with a moderate white head (3+) Aroma is full of estery bananas, pleasantly so. (7+) Flavour is fairly sweet, with more of the banana from the aroma. Not a lot of hops to balance, which I actually kind of like but it does get to be fairly sweet as the glass goes on. (7+) Smooth medium palate. (3+) A very nice hefe. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 9, 2007 Pours a nice golden color and is unfiltered. Nice big white head that doesn’t last very long. Aroma is mostly clove and spice. A wonderful characteristic of this beer is that the flavors tend to wrap them selves around the tongue. I could feel it beginning in front and twisting its way back. Delightful. Flavor is deep and resonant. Notes of vanilla pudding, banana and clove work well together and I call that great brewing. A great beer in a big 22 oz. bottle. Life is good. I took a whiff as I was pouring and was getting character that I only remember ever getting off a muscat. Nice spicy funk that smells like a banana bread. Flavor is a bit sweeter than I would have figured. Still has a good consistency. Nice spice profile. Just seems like a well made, traditional hefeweizen to me. Feel has a good carbonation to it and the liquid is pretty good as well. Like I said. Pretty even and traditional stuff here. Very good in my opinion. Easily drinkable and worth some exploration.
