Commercial Description:
In the old days, runners who made it to third base were rewarded with a mug of beer. This is the way the game was meant to be played; pitchers throwing side-armed and a half barrel on the field. Asa Brainard, the pitcher who led Cincinnati's first professional baseball team to the World Championship in 1869, was paid $1,600. The beer must have been good! Our RedLegg Ale is an American style red ale, the kind you'd find in the hop country of the Pacific Northwest. This deep red ale is a has a great big hop flavor and a slightly sweet finish.

Poured from a 22 oz. bomber bottle. Ruby red/amber color with thin white head. Aroma of malts, brown sugar and fruits. Flavor was a balanced maltiness with caramel and some roasted malt notes. Fruit-like sweetness was mellowed by a hop bitterness in the finish. Not a bad amber ale.

22 oz bottle pours a clear and shimmering copper body. Two finger beige head is fluffy and retains well. Aroma is buttery toffee and caramel with an aromatic spicy hope note. Light medium body supports a medium carbonation. Taste echoes the aroma, with a dominant caramel maltiness balanced by spicy hop bitterness. Charming in its simplicity and very sessionable.

Bottle...reddish-orange pour, faint caramel aroma...taste is missing something, should either be hoppier or maltier. The flavor reminds slightly of tobacco. I’ll pass on this one from now on.

Poured a dark copper color with a thick white head. Aroma is a weak meld of hops and malt. The hop aroma had a metallic tone to it, which was unpleasant. Taste had a slightly tannic start and a flat boring finish with no hop character to speak of. Pretty boring stuff.

Very dark orange with red hues, clear and vibrant. Pretty, somewhat creamy head has bright flecks that give it a creamsicle tint, slowly receding. Toasty grains and caramel lead in the aroma. Slight citrus seems out of place and soured/stale. Drab aroma, at least nothing particularly offensive stands out. DMS is noted as the glass warms, but only a minor distraction. Flavor is toasty and dull, moderately tart and that’s pretty much it. Finishes stale, uneven and off-dry. Palate is light to medium bodied. Unimpressive. Actually hard to finish.

Bottle courtesy of footbalm. Pours copper with a thin ring of white bubbles. Smells of sweet malt and citrus. Taste is nutty with hints of butter, fruit, nuts and dough. Run of the mill even for an amber, but drinkable and the label’s great.

Bottle from Capone’s. Deep coppery ruby edged pour with caramel malt aroma, plus some cabernet and hops. Tastes caramelly, with some brown sugar, figs, red wine, and hop notes.

Pours a clear amber color with small tan head. Aroma is malty, not other real distinct flavor. The first thing you’ll notice in the taste is the hops, which is not overpowering, but is the most noticeably flavor. Finish is bitter and leaves a bit of an aftertaste. This one is just okay. A little too much aftertaste for my taste.
