Commercial Description:
In the old days, runners who made it to third base were rewarded with a mug of beer. This is the way the game was meant to be played; pitchers throwing side-armed and a half barrel on the field. Asa Brainard, the pitcher who led Cincinnati's first professional baseball team to the World Championship in 1869, was paid $1,600. The beer must have been good! Our RedLegg Ale is an American style red ale, the kind you'd find in the hop country of the Pacific Northwest. This deep red ale is a has a great big hop flavor and a slightly sweet finish.

This has a bright amber body with a modest head that lingers none too long. The aroma is malty and fruity (apples, cherries) with a light herbal edge. It’s sweet and fruity to taste, but unfortunately the bitterness recedes to the point that it becomes a bit too sweet for my tastes.

Bottled shared by Zrrbrrt. Poured a red body with a thin head, formed a little cyclone look. Sweet malty flavor that was not smooth. Malty.

Tap at the Oak Room in Athens, OH. Copper in color, with almost no head. Almost no aroma. Fairly sweet and thin. Let me wishing for more aroma, body and flavor.

Amber. Smooth and clean with no aftertaste. Not much flavor to go with it but a good beer. Had at Mt. Adams Bar and Grill in Cincinnati with the family.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a transparent copper brown colored body. The mild aroma was malty cinnamon and caramel malt. The smooth mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The nice flavor contained notes of malt sweet and caramel. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

Bottle. Iovry small head that mostly diminished, poor lacing, visible carbonation, transparent, and a ruby hue. Nose was malty, caramel, semi-sweet, and nutty and ditto for the flavor. Tingly mouthfeel and medium body. Very nicely done and very quaffable. Hope to have this one again sometime.

Reddish copper, no head. Smooth nutty / caramel aroma, and a clean , crisp, but very mild flavor. Some piney hop notes and then a bready finish. Sampled at Knoxville Brewer’s Jam, 2006.
