| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 23, 2007 6/10/2007: Barrel House Red Legg Ale is clear amber in color and has a really dense, ivory head that leaves some foamy lacing. The aroma and flavor have caramel malts. The flavor also has a nice roastiness to it. There is just a little bit of bitterness that helps to balance this beer out. It also has a medium body and is very smooth. This is a really nicely done red ale that is so easy to drink. It’s even better on draught. I have always enjoyed this beer and Barrel House beers in general. I’m so glad that their beers are available again.

Very different beer but quite good - nice blending of tart and diacetyl flavors.
