Commercial Description:
In the old days, runners who made it to third base were rewarded with a mug of beer. This is the way the game was meant to be played; pitchers throwing side-armed and a half barrel on the field. Asa Brainard, the pitcher who led Cincinnati's first professional baseball team to the World Championship in 1869, was paid $1,600. The beer must have been good! Our RedLegg Ale is an American style red ale, the kind you'd find in the hop country of the Pacific Northwest. This deep red ale is a has a great big hop flavor and a slightly sweet finish.

An excellent red ale. I enjoy a pint of this everytime I visit the Barrel House in Cincinnati. Rick DeBar, the brewer, does a find job. Rich malt flavors and plenty of hops.

Bottle Butterscotch malt aroma with light hint of hops. Cloudy reddish amber with a small head. Tart cherry/Granny Smith apple initially blended with a light butterscotch flavor - minimal sweetness. Very different beer but quite good - nice blending of tart and diacetyl flavors.

(Knoxville Brewers’ Jam). Pours golden red with off-white, retentive head. The aroma is crisp, fresh, and malty. Toasted barley, bread, sweetness, and earthiness lead up to a slightly carbonic finish. As far as reds go, this is among the better ones I’ve had.

Bottle from Liquor Barn in L’ville. Pours orange amber with an off white head. Mild aroma of caramel and fruity hops. Nice and interesting malt flavor of caramel, toasted malt, wet grains, and subtle rye. A non-aggressive hop spiciness balances this out. Moderate bitterness and slight dryness on the finish. A very solid session red, and very under rated IMO.

22 oz bottle pours a clear and shimmering copper body. Two finger beige head is fluffy and retains well. Aroma is buttery toffee and caramel with an aromatic spicy hope note. Light medium body supports a medium carbonation. Taste echoes the aroma, with a dominant caramel maltiness balanced by spicy hop bitterness. Charming in its simplicity and very sessionable.

500ml bomber picked up across the river from Cincinnati in Kentucky. Hazy orange brown color with a massive head. Im not crazy about the aroma, sort of soapy, and earthy...in a bad way. Smooth, medium bodied, very watery refreshing mouthfeel. More on the malty side of things, some solid amber malt tastes. Crisp up front, and then quickly fades into a sweet finish. A great session beer, and a solid Red all around.

A good, but not great, red beer. I'm always surprised by the complexity of the taste every time I drink this stuff!

Above average for its category. This has great color, aroma and head. If it had just a touch more carbonation the flavor would have more spirit. Nice overall though.
