Jun 3, 2004 On tap at Barrel House. Poured deep red-brown, topped by a thin off-white head. Initially, the flavor was quite hoppy (pine) with candy-like sweet malts. Dark fruit, toast, caramel, and a woody aspect developed as I sipped. Rather tart. Needs more character, however. Also, this seemed to be more of an English Strong Ale, not a Belgian Strong Ale.

Nov 13, 2002 Tasted at the Barrelhouse Brewing Company Microbrew Fest on November 9. Dark amber color and a potpourri aroma. Strong and complex flavor of raisins and hops. This beer was interesting to the end of my 3oz cup.
