Peregrinari (49), Washington, Washington DC, USA Apr 2, 2008 Cloudy amber with a foamy head. Aroma is fantastic with citrus, evergreen and sour apple. Flavor is smooth with strong sweet malt and hops. Really could use a bit more hops though it has a fantastic flavor. Finish is a bit slick with some malts and yeast. Very nice beer overall.
sloth (1536), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA Jun 23, 2008 Draft at the pub. Medium statured tan head, good retention and sticky lace. clear amber copper hued ale. Nose is nice, light pine, citrus, lightly earthy with some bready malt aromas as well. Body is medium, gently resiny. with a good carbonation. Well balanced malt to hop flavors, caramely, piney and orangey, lightly sweet and somewhat toastey. Dry fruity finish makes for an easy quaffin IPA. Enjoyable. I see it,s listed as a winter seasonal, hmmmm, oh well i guess it got promoted to a summer seasonal as well. argo0 (6229), Washington DC, USA Apr 6, 2008 (growler, thanks kmweaver) Hazy copper body with lovely medium beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, pine/grapefruit, light caramel. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit/cat urine, some caramel, light bread. Nice bitter aftertaste. Medium body, some resin. acrdz (4362), Boulder, Colorado, USA Apr 3, 2008 Growler shared by Ken. Prickly sharp piney hops in the nose along with cedar, nuts, and wood. Flavor is more chewy, woody crystal malt with some cherries and pine needles (twiggy). Good stuff, a bit too much crystal malt and a bit too chewy, though. ryan (1707), Beltsville, Maryland, USA Apr 2, 2008 Courtesy of kmweaver. Hazy amber body with a large white head that leaves chunky lacing. Sweet, fruity, hoppy nose with lots of caramel and citrus. The flavor is moderately sweet with a moderate, chunky bitterness.
