Grassy, tea leaf aroma with notes of citrus and biscuits. Mellow natured with loads of grass, hay and spicy hops with a floral aspect to boot. Underlying tea bitterness. English styled, but hopped very heavily. Biscuit aftertaste on top. Medium body. Quite dry with a tinge of citrus juice. Finishes with a hint more citrus atop a Fuggles laden hop swarm and richer body. Quite good.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 7, 2009 From a draft pour at the Egremont Inn in Great Barrington, MA this came a clear copper color with a small white head and light lacing. Nose of citrus and pine hops. Light and very smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is lightly bitter and so is the finish. For someone who is used to the heavy bitterness of west coast IPA’s this seemed pretty laid back but was quite drinkable and enjoyable. Pours a very nice dark amber/copper color with a big 2 inch head that was slow to dissolve. Aroma was nice with piney citrus and sweet toffee malts. I would say it has a light to medium mouth feel that lingers long enough. The taste wasnt as hoppy as i anticipated but still has a nice woody amber flavor. Maybe the bottle is towards the end of its life and was n’t as good as the others rating’s say. sloth (1677), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 23, 2008 Draft at the pub. Medium statured tan head, good retention and sticky lace. clear amber copper hued ale. Nose is nice, light pine, citrus, lightly earthy with some bready malt aromas as well. Body is medium, gently resiny. with a good carbonation. Well balanced malt to hop flavors, caramely, piney and orangey, lightly sweet and somewhat toastey. Dry fruity finish makes for an easy quaffin IPA. Enjoyable. I see it,s listed as a winter seasonal, hmmmm, oh well i guess it got promoted to a summer seasonal as well. argo0 (6907), Washington DC, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 3, 2008 Growler shared by Ken. Prickly sharp piney hops in the nose along with cedar, nuts, and wood. Flavor is more chewy, woody crystal malt with some cherries and pine needles (twiggy). Good stuff, a bit too much crystal malt and a bit too chewy, though. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 2, 2008 Cloudy amber with a foamy head. Aroma is fantastic with citrus, evergreen and sour apple. Flavor is smooth with strong sweet malt and hops. Really could use a bit more hops though it has a fantastic flavor. Finish is a bit slick with some malts and yeast. Very nice beer overall. ryan (1778), Beltsville, Maryland, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 2, 2008 Growler, courtesy of jjpm74. Thanks, John! Pours a bright, golden reddish-tea color; big off-white head with solid retention and great fine-bubbled lacing. Lots of resiny, earthy and citrus hops in the aroma; oily, fresh, and a touch of tea and caramel. Lively, fluffy carbonation in a medium-to-full mouthfeel: lots of earthy bitterness (resiny, chewy) with a touch of biscuity malts and tea and red fruits; pleasant bitter hops character and a solid malt core; well-made stuff. Medium finish, showing breadiness, tea, and earthy bitterness.
