A heavy black Stout distinguished by its dry roasted-barley bitterness and dense creamy head. A touch of coffee roasted locally at the House of Coffee contributes to its rich complex character.

06.25.05 Tap @ Red Bank Nearly black, foamy white head. The pour was slow and deliberate, and it had a unique tap handle, but the beer doesn’t look like a nitro poured brew and the body has at least of hint of eff about it. Lightly roasty coffee aromas but big coffee flavors. Good bitterness. Oily spice in background, maybe licorice.

On tap at Basil T. Poured a dark black color with a off white head. Aromas and tastes of chocolate, and roasted malts. Has a nice coffee bitter finish. Nice clean and dry finish. My 1st beer at the brew pub and it turned out to be the best by far.

On tap at Andy’s. Dark color with a nice head. Light in flavor and full bodied. Roasty coffee flavor. Enjoyable beer.

On tap at Andy’s. Black with a tan head. Roasty aroma. Flavor is light, yet full, with the dark malts exploding with a roasty dry coffee like flavor. This is a well done, easy drinking stout....

Nice black pour. Aroma and flavor are dominated by coffee. Loved this at GABF as my morning coffee.

Poured an opaque black color with a medium sized tan head. Roasty aroma, and a chocolate and coffee taste with a very creamy mouthfeel. Served off nitro tap at the RB brewpub, this was pretty nice, although the scene at the bar was not.

I really like Basil's stout. I am generally not a fan of Dry Stouts, but Basil's is very creamy and fantastic with one of their authentic italian desserts. I pour it on the Tiramisu. More burnt coffee than chocolate in this one. Nice lingering bitter aftertaste. Smooth, silkiness to finish.

On tap GABF '02: Deep black/ruby color, huge roasted coffee nose, creamy mouthfeel, full and tasty in every way.
