On tap at Basil T. Poured a dark black color with a off white head. Aromas and tastes of chocolate, and roasted malts. Has a nice coffee bitter finish. Nice clean and dry finish. My 1st beer at the brew pub and it turned out to be the best by far.

on tap-pours an off white head, with a black color. Aroma is lightly coffee. Taste is an initial burst of coffee followed by nothing and then a bite.

Clearish deepest dark brown pour covered by a fully lasting beige head. Nutty, coffee-like nose holding a gentle roastiness that remains under a veil of cappuccino ice cream. Finishes really drier than expected, with nice roasted grains and toastiness. Sweetness develops a caramel tones while the flavour evolution is a definition of the style. Medium-bodied, soft carbonation. Good stuff.

GABF 2005: Deep brown hue with a very good head. The nose detects chocolate, black malt, dusty yeast esters. The taste had a grassy hop note with some mocha and cream undertones, not much depth. The feel is dry and chalky. Arrgg, I expected more from this and it fell flat.

GABF 2006: Almost black color with a tan head. Big black coffe in the aroma with notes of milk chocolate goodness underneath. Chocolate and coffee flavor with some cigarette ash. Dry finish with a light to medium body.

Poured an opaque black color with a medium sized tan head. Roasty aroma, and a chocolate and coffee taste with a very creamy mouthfeel. Served off nitro tap at the RB brewpub, this was pretty nice, although the scene at the bar was not.

On tap (co2) at the brewpub in red bank. Pours a nice black body with a long lasting tan head. Good lace as well. Aroma is of light roasted malts and some coffee, with bits of chocolate. Flavor is well balanced and loaded with flavor like burnt malts, chocolate, resh roasted coffee, and lightly hopppy in the end for a nice bitterness. The actual coffee that they added seemed very subtle compared to many other coffee stouts, but I think the small amount goes very well in this stout.
