ClarkVV (3550), Allston, Massachusetts, USA May 7, 2004 Updated: May 17, 2005 2004 draught. Deep caramel brown with some light burgundy hints and some mellow orange hues. No head, lightly bubbly and has an intersting lightly astringent malt smell. Light bubble gum, and esters. Flavor has alot of chewy bubble gum, hints of fruit esters, and a decent dose of caramel malt. A hint of citric flavoring, and a healthy dose of belgian yeast makes this quite drinkable, but not outstanding. Mostly dry, a bit too fizzy, with not a ton of complexity, but no major flaws.
doubelknv3 (507), Illinois, USA Sep 14, 2008 Reddish brown with thin white head. Fruit and sweet malt aroma. Dark fruit, grain, and caramel flavours. Medium body and sweet. My cousin noted that it reminded him of chicken wings.... gearbike (385), West Bloomfield, Michigan, USA Mar 15, 2008 Carmel color with no head from tap at brewery. Dried fruit sweet. Very smooth but to light. Carmel sweet finish. Styles (1654), Taylor, Michigan, USA Dec 26, 2007 7-22-06 MBG. Mahogany, with huge tan head. Aroma is very muted. Fruity esters but a certain soapiness I can’t get past. Flavor quite nice. Plenty of dark fruit, prune, fig, and overripe banana. Again get a certain soapiness in the finish, really kills the beer for me. Re-rate in the near future. drinkallday (20), Royal Oak, Michigan, USA Feb 28, 2007 I live down the street from Bastones and I never get tired of this one. Medium body, smooth carmel flavors, and it goes down nice. beerbuzzmontreal (2769), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jan 5, 2007 Cloudy dark amber pour with a thin offqhite head. Boring, ordinary and simple flavor of caramel malt.
