johndoughty (1692), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Mar 15, 2005 This beer celebrates the activities of Black Tom a valiant knight who fought at the battle of Wincerby in 1643. My history knowledge is not that brilliant but what but what I do know isa supeb dark beer.First impressions are of a deep roasted flavour with a strong hint of citrus. After that complex flavours swirl around making this a very pleasant beer to drink. dreamboat (186), Brisbane, Australia Jan 17, 2005 Very dark brown to black with a moderate tan head which falls to a thin layer. rich chocolatey malty aroma. Full body, not at all cloying or challenging to drink. Nicely balanced with a dry hoppy finish. would make for a great session.
