aroma vinous, rich and fragrant, sweet and spicy. pours dark ruby with a slim tan head. flavour roasted with a little coffee and wood, a little astringent, balanced with a bit of sweetness. Smooth palate, finish dry and lingering. another good pint from Batemans.

Oct 31, 2008 Bottle, Morrisons, West Kirby. Very dark brown, virtually black colour with a red tinge and a medium sized tan head. Aroma was dark fruit and choccy malt with the flavour having a slight sweetness and similar elements. Quite lively carbonation.

Sep 27, 2008 [Bottle] shared by BDR. Pours a clearish brown with a medium beige head. Aroma is sweetish roasted barley and bittersweet chocolate. Flavor is the same. Somewhat thin mouthfeel. Overall not too bad.

I am not usually a huge fan of Porters, but liked this. Hints of coffee/chocolate in the roasted taste - very dark ruby brown. Nice

Sep 6, 2008 Very dark brown to black with a moderate tan head which falls to a thin layer. Has a rich chocolate malt aroma. Full body, with a dry inish.

Aug 31, 2008 Bottled@Chris O Post GBBF Tasting. Deep amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is caramel, some hops and mild earthyness. Flavour ismalts, rubber, cardboard and some mild notes of chocolate.
