flapjack (14), England Sep 7, 2006 Cask. Was expecting a lot more from this pint. Good colour and head, but overpowering sulphur taste. Felt there was some malt and hops in there somewhere. Hbie (133), Essex, England Mar 14, 2005 Cask. One of Batemans monthly beers. Not bad, brown with thin white head a bit darker than the XB with roast malt flavour and hops. Quite good session beer. Pub (4124), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Feb 4, 2004 Cask Conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Brown amber beer with no head. Low impact beer, a middling forced malt with some nut character but very little else, a watery brew. Spiesy (2331), Global Citizen, Greater London, England Jan 26, 2004 Cask Conditioned, at St. Pauls Tavern, London. Dusty, darkened amber colour, no head. Pretty poor bitter this. Not much flavour and hardly any hop or bitterness. Disappointing effort, even for a lightly built bitter.
