tarjei (1300), Bryne, Norway Jul 2, 2008 1/2 pint cask at Pivo Cafe Bar, York. Hazy brown color, nice white off-white/beige head. Aroma is malt and fruit/citric. Flavor is malty with hints of dried/dark fruit. No carbonation. berkshire_john (1106), Bracknell, Berkshire, England Jun 18, 2008 Cask at the Babington Arms (JDW), Derby. Gold with a creamy cream head; the aroma is grainy and bready; smooth and creamy, dry and velvety but lacking any real flavour, and with a gently bitter finish. Tastes more like a nitro-keg than a real ale. maeib (4012), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Jun 15, 2008 Cask conditioned - handpump - Malt Shovel, Northampton. An amber coloured beer with an off-white head. This is a farly boring fruity, twiggy beer, which lacks character or taste. Sadly all Batemans specials or monthlys seem to be boring and lack stand out flavours. Their core stuff is good, so why do they not put more attention into the specials? TheGrandMaster (1492), Auckland, New Zealand Aug 29, 2005 Pimt pulled at The Greyhound in Warslow (Peak District), an amber brown with a medium-sized head. A malty aroma, also reflected in the malty taste, disappointingly a little carbonated. argo0 (6231), Washington DC, USA Aug 24, 2005 (cask at The Globe (Nicholson’s), London) Clear golden body with off-whte head, nice lacing. Aroma is mild, medium sweet, floral, caramel, some apple. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, earthy, light spice. Light-medium body.
