Commercial Description:
Cask; Special - August 2005. Also brewed to commiserate the loss of the Ashes in January 2007.
A hoppy beer with plenty of fruit character. Spicy aroma at first, followed by citrus/grapefruit finish.

1/2 pint cask at Pivo Cafe Bar, York. Hazy brown color, nice white off-white/beige head. Aroma is malt and fruit/citric. Flavor is malty with hints of dried/dark fruit. No carbonation.

Cask at the Babington Arms (JDW), Derby. Gold with a creamy cream head; the aroma is grainy and bready; smooth and creamy, dry and velvety but lacking any real flavour, and with a gently bitter finish. Tastes more like a nitro-keg than a real ale.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Malt Shovel, Northampton. An amber coloured beer with an off-white head. This is a farly boring fruity, twiggy beer, which lacks character or taste. Sadly all Batemans specials or monthlys seem to be boring and lack stand out flavours. Their core stuff is good, so why do they not put more attention into the specials?

Pimt pulled at The Greyhound in Warslow (Peak District), an amber brown with a medium-sized head. A malty aroma, also reflected in the malty taste, disappointingly a little carbonated.
