joergen (6257), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 2, 2008 Bottle.
Cleat brown coloured with a small beige head.
Light roasted aroma of caramel and coffee.
Light roasted flavour of coffee and hops.
Roasted and hoppy finish. harrisoni (5121), Ashford, Kent, England Apr 12, 2008 Cask handpull at The Rake, Borough Market. Ruby with thin beige head. Some butter. Dull, doesn’t go anywhere. Toasty. Just not very good. Nothing wrong with it, but just dull. TBone (4933), Pori, Finland Apr 20, 2008 Bottled (BB 07/2008)
Opaque black color, small off-white head. Aroma has dark chocolate and coffee, hints of milk. Suprisingly full-bodied for 4 % beer. Lots of dark color malts. Dark toasted coffeish flavor with ashy notes. Toasted aftertaste. If I remember correctly, Carlow O’Haras Celtic Stout was a bit similar. This is not a world class stout, but wellmade brew. imdownthepub (4017), Banbury, Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire, England Nov 24, 2007 Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury. Black with red hue, cream head. Lovely richly roasted flavours with fruits, raisins and forest berryies with quite a sweetish note in the body, perhaps more Mild than Stout but loses nothing in the drinking. A touch smoky with a burnt finish, lovely moorish beer for the ABV. sayravai (3045), Helsinki, Finland Dec 3, 2007 (Bottled) Very dark cola-brown with a lemonadey, quickly and completely fading head. The aroma is sweetish, rye-puddingy and roasty malt with some licorice hints. Roasted-malty, slightly sour, earthy and salty-licoricey flavor with medium bitterness, some dark fruitiness, and a dry-ashy, mildly bitter finish. Light to medium-bodied, medium-carbonated palate. Smooth and roasty, but not that interesting - even as a session beer.
