Low carb, vinous tartness, sickly sweet with some piny strawberry hops. Some apple flavor, seriously undercarbonated, and really destroys the beer’s decent flavor.

Hop aroma. Bronze coloured strong in alcohol and a little hazy in appearance. Hoppy with some bitterness in a crisp and floral malt finish. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 8, 2009 [Bottle] Pours copper in color with lots of off-white head right out of the bottle. Pine cone, floral hops and earthy grains in the aroma. Bread, astringent hops and sweet caramel malts in the taste. Noticeable alcohol burn in here as well. Dry and bitter finish. Low carbonation level. Not a stellar beer, but I see some promise here from a relatively new brewery. webbcreative (111), , Oklahoma, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Pours a dark amber-copper color, and is much darker than I would expect an APA to be, with a 3 finger white head. Aroma is pretty sweet, caramel malts, with some grassy hops smell, and Im also smelling the alcohol more then I want to. Taste, is pretty much alcohol forward, and finishing pretty sweet, again with an alcohol bite in the back of my throat. But underneath all of that I can detect some citrus hops, and maybe a little bit of fruity esters like apple peel maybe.
Overall, at 8% abv, I would call this an IPA. But the hops are not amped up enough to be labeled as such. Really too sweet and and too much alcohol bite for me. But this at least shows promise, and as this is from the first batch produced, I expected that there might need to be some tweeking of the recipes before its all said and done. I won’t give up hope for this brewery, I think with some more time under there belt and getting use to the new equipment, they will knock out some quality brews.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 26, 2009 Poured a hazy orange and brown with a deep off-white head and average lacing. The aroma was lots of soapy, floral hops along with some light citrus and toffee. The flavor was mostly pine and floral hops and more soap. Thin, bitter mouthfeel. What balance their was in the aroma is no where to be found in the flavor. Thin mouthfeel. Tasted like somebody’s homebrew. pkdmbrown (1), USA does not count | 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Oct 7, 2009 I really like this offering.
Nice sharp, hoppy finish. Bit of a citrus hint.
Very smooth.
Extremely enjoyable. BeerBitch12 (16), , Oklahoma, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 25, 2009 Nice thick fluffy head...nice golden red in color...you can smell the freshness, the crispness in the hops and the citrus fruits...There’s a little grapefruit on the tongue, followed by a slight malty, toffee sweetness. It finishes real crisp, clean and quick. Excellent if you don’t want something too heavy, or if it’s a warm day, for sure. One of the best things about Edmond these days is the fact that Battered Boar is being brewed right down the street. WesKBob (321), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 22, 2009 Pours an opaque reddish-orange color. Very little head. Aroma is floral hops. Flavor is more complex, with some caramel sweetness and some spicy notes to complement the citrusy hops. Mouthfeel is a little thick and undercarbonated. But a very solid entry for a small brewer.
