Aromas of carmel, pear, pineapple, plum and light spice. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, pear, dates and light spice with a smooth lingering fruity finish. A surprisingly good beer! lumpsowers (252), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 24, 2009 Cloudy copper pour, medium head and lace. Sweet thick aroma. Tastes like an old abbey ale, very sweet and thick. Some fruits and strawberry, but is washed out by alcohol and sourness. This tastes dusty and old, but it can’t be, this is a new brewery…

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 8, 2009 [Bottle] Pours a cloudy amber color with very little white head. Sweet caramel and amber malts in the aroma. The taste is quite one-dimensional and sweet. Caramel, brown sugar and some pear/apple notes in the taste. The alcohol is somewhat noticeable and doesn’t cut down the sweet character of this beer very much. Average carbonation and mouthfeel. I was a little disappointed with this one. webbcreative (111), , Oklahoma, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Poured a hazy, coppery color, with white 2 finger head that quickly dissapated. Aroma = sweet, toasted carmel malts. a hint of bready and toffee flavors, and a touch of fruitiness. Taste, is about the same, carmel sweetness, with toffee and a bit more of the fruitiness shows up, with a big alcohol bite in the finish, this is on the high end for the style. It finishes sweet, with an apple skin taste that lingers a bit. The mouthfeel is just a click under being medium.
Overall, this is not really what I expect from my Amber Ales, although this is a tasty brew, if you gave this to me in a blind test, I might guess it to be a light beligian dubbel, rather than an amber ale. The alcohol is just too big for me to enjoy as an amber, which i normally like to have a few of in a sitting. One and done for me with this one. jbye4334 (710), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA

There was so much flavor, an explosion of flavor, I didn’t know what to think. I will try to pick it apart for you...great golden amber color, with a pillowy head...so smooth and easy to drink...plenty of malty, caramel, honey sweetness with enough hops to make it so that it’s not syrupy, or unfocused. There’s definitely a lot of flavor in this beer, and it’s definitely not unfocused. One of my new favorites, for sure, especially in the Local category. beerpizza (1), Oklahoma, USA does not count | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 25, 2009 Nice taste. Smooth hops not overpowering. A pleasant sweetness I wasn’t expecting. A very nice Ale.
