Thinnish mouthfeel. Some dunkel malt in there, not very drinkable. Nondiscript minimal malt and tin aroma. NosirIwont (1186), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Mar 10, 2008 Can. Pours a clear copper red with a frothy beige/light brown head. Some lacing. Sweet aroma which is dominated by yeast at first, but quickly gives way to more fruity notes as it warms. Dry, metallic notes as well as cereals. Not too interesting. Flavour is sweet and fruity with notes of plums. Lots of yeast here as well; not bad as such, but not really a ‘bock-thing’. The initial finish is dominated by a weird spicy note which I’m not sure I’m too fond of. Ends on a lingering apple note, which seems a bit misplaced. Metallic notes. Not that bad overall, as I might made it sound, but not too great either. 06-03-08. berkshirejohn (1835), Bracknell, Berkshire, England

"Bavaria" is usually not so interesting brand, but certainly information that this is brewed by De Koningshoeven adds some expectations. Ruby red color, creamy brownish head. Toasted caramel, grassy hops and light alcoholi in the nose. Sweetish bock with crisp carbonation, mouthfeel is a bit hard. Brown sugar, lightly toasted malty beer. Aftertaste is sugary. Some alcohol is evident too. Simple, drinkable and a bit too sweet bock. Quite typical Dutch "macro bock". Frauditor (152), Hagerstown, Maryland, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Nov 26, 2007 Bottle 30 cl. Pours a clear purple brown with a small tannish head. Aroma has a lot of different things, malt, hops, caramel, grapefruit (or at least citrus), smoke and some brown sugar. A long bitter finish makes this a pretty good beer. You have to get used to it a bit, but after half a bottle it turns out to be pretty good!
