A red beer with a fine brown head. The aroma is sweet yeasty with hints of caramel and sourness. The flavor is surprisingly thin with notes of caramel and roasted bread.

(Bottle 30 cl) Courtesy of jbrus. Clear, reddish brown with a small, creamy, beige head. Vinous aroma with plenty of roasted malt. Quite full-bodied, plenty of roasted malt, vinous with some port-like accents. Dry and hoppy finish. 310807

Bottle 30cl. @ [ Back2Bock Tasting ].
Clear dark amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, cabbage water, sugar, roasted notes, caramel notes, dark berry, raisin, date notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is soft. [20081115]

Bottle, 6.5%. Metallic aroma. Clear brown colour. Small light brown head. The flavour is quite sweet, creamy and slightly peppery. Quite roasted with good malt notes and brown sugar. Finishes with a little rough malt bitterness. Nothing spectacular, but it is a dark bock the way I like it.

Bottled (thanks jbrus!). Deep rubyish amber colour, beige foamy head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is raisins, some ryebready notes as well as mild fruits and hops. Flavour is toasted ryebread with the burning notes growing for the finish. Some underlying fruity (green apples) and grassy hops as well as some mild toffeeishness and chocolate. Rather big surprise with the burnt ryebready notes, which fit this like a fist in the eye.

Dark amber color; thin head. Soma aroma of caramel. Flavor of caramel and candi sugar; low bitterness; iron touch. Simple Bock, typical Dutch.

Courtesy of bierkoning. Ty Edo! "Bavaria" is usually not so interesting brand, but certainly information that this is brewed by De Koningshoeven adds some expectations. Ruby red color, creamy brownish head. Toasted caramel, grassy hops and light alcoholi in the nose. Sweetish bock with crisp carbonation, mouthfeel is a bit hard. Brown sugar, lightly toasted malty beer. Aftertaste is sugary. Some alcohol is evident too. Simple, drinkable and a bit too sweet bock. Quite typical Dutch "macro bock".
