tummybeerfigur (20), Indonesia Jul 2, 2007 I really dig this Beer, although most dutch goes for Heineken, still Bavaria taste better JohnBarleycorn (390), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 26, 2007 Can. Medium gold. Forward aroma boasts your typical lager profile of grain, hops and malt. Standard lager-like palate. Unfortunately, the flavour is not nearly as forward as the aroma, offering simple glimpses of cereal, hop bitterness and a touch of caramel. About as average as a lager gets. wcampbell (572), Central, South Carolina, USA Jun 15, 2007 Weak flavor, nothing distinctive from other pale lagers. Pretty sweet. No hop flavor. Bullit (1300), Glasgow, Scotland Jun 15, 2007 Golden colour, white head. Not much of an aroma. Not much of a taste, too watery. cheapdark (2011), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 13, 2007 Don’t ya just love those green bottles? Date code 1719, aged well! My bottle did not say pilsner on it, it said Bavaria Holland Beer. Sometimes these out of country labels are difficult to ID for a rating. Pop the lid and there is immediately a short pungent veggie cabbage aroma. Once poured it mellows into a simple, clean and perhaps sweet smell. Looks like any other ubiquitous pale yellow American lager. Taste is a little pinchy, like an instigating pilsner. A small back of throat mild bitter linger hangs for a while. Good medium carbonation. Has a very thin froth on top for a head. Stacks up well against American pale lagers and perhaps even pilsners. Overall not bad but could have a few more manners. For a lager it is too much and for a pilsner it is not enough. After a few chugs there is this industrial hint of alcohol lurking around on the back of the tongue.
littlecarp (128), Redding, California, USA Jun 3, 2007 Pours gold w/ foamy head that stays well into the pint. Very weak aroma. initially very malty-honey. Lively light palate. Finish is a deeper honey taste w/ some light bitterness. Not spectacular, but drinkable and nice for a sit down. cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA Jun 1, 2007 Rated 1/20/07: Blah, weak lager lacking adequate malt content. Grassy aroma slightly appealing. Average pale gold pour, medium white head, moderate lacing. Light shallow mouthfeel, finishes with a weird emptiness. Flavor is virtually non-existent, really lacking in the malt department I could however detect some mild hop bitterness. Overall a guzzler perhaps, may be refreshing after a long hot day but rather weak. JAF737300 (791), Tampa, Florida, USA May 31, 2007 What can I say, this is a skunky watered down version of Heineken. It lacks aroma, flavor and it has a very lacking palate!
