Sickly sweet sugars overburdon any chance of malt or hops coming through. Sampled this one in Australia, marketed as "Bavaria Premium". Still the same shite lolly water under a slightly different name. maeib (4707), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England

The aroma is quite mellow with some hops and no expected grassiness. The taste is also clean and mellow with a passable hoppiness. Quite pleasant and certainly more enjoyable for me than most beers of this style. Cornfield (4924), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 6, 2005 I really like the way this beer looks, light golden color, lively carbonation, huge creamy (maltose induced) head. Unfortunately, it stinks... that is, the aroma is unfortunate. (What’s Dutch for "skunk?") This is very soft in the mouth and actually doesn’t taste too bad in a mild, malty way. But there’s little neligible hopping, so this certainly isn’t a pils... at least, a good one. Watery clean finish. nick76 (2647), Tampa, Florida, USA

The problem was that it seems somewhat astringent. It does have an unusual sort of a skunky smell and I am not sure if it is truly skunky or what. The only interesting thing about this beer is the hint of citrus in the aftertaste. I guess you could say this one has more in common with Mexican beer than it does with most European beer. kumite56 (461), Cordova, Tennessee, USA

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jan 1, 2005 I kind of wanted to hate this beer. But I really can’t. Its kind of bland and average, but not bad. A little better than Heineken actually, which is sort of the benchmark for Hollish macros KarmanGhia (276), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

I bought this because I hadn’t had that wonderful skunkyness of a pils in a while, and, man, I wasn’t disappointed. This is the skunkiest nose I’ve ever experienced! The tastes are all mild but consist of butterscotch, light breadiness, and a bit of lemon pepper dryness on the back of the tongue. What can I say? Perhaps, "I hate pilsners."
