Quite highly carbonated but not sharp on the tongue. Head is white and long lasting with nice lacing. Aroma of bread and hops. Nice malt and hop balance throughout, with as much or more body than most lagers sold in this country. Definitely better than it’ fellow Dutch lagers Heineken or Grolsch commonly found here. Priced the same as the common macro lagers ie: Canadian, Blue etc so I think I will grab this one next time instead. goozen (1088), Leiden, Netherlands

Slight corn aroma, pours nice golden colour with a hoppy-tasting head. Decent lacing on the glass. A little too much aftertaste for my liking, but overall it’s not a bad lager. daniel0017 (232), Ontario, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 25, 2007 Light aroma of floral hops, quite nice. Light foamy head that dissipated quickly and left nice lace. Flavor was sweet and malty with a dry finish. Mouthfeel was well carbonated, crisp and lively. Not bad stuff (definitely not pilsner) but comparable to most north american macro lagers. The smell was heavily hoppy with a hint of honey. In the palate it had a light to medim body with a slightly oily texture. It had a slightly sweet taste but seemed mostly watered down. This is an easy beer to drink, and I would recommend it if you plan on "tossing back a few." gam (1103), brisbane, Australia

Sweet, corny, and grainy with a pleasant European green bottle skunk. A bit of metal and a thickish, slightly phlegmy mouthfeel. Good, like a bold Heineken.

This one poured very lively and very frothy; it may not have had enough time to settle from a wipe-out I had on an ice patch on the way out from the store (a later visitation revealed a scanty white head that again left good lacing on the sides). Grainy aroma with a grassyness about it and a very faint note of grapefruit. The taste is light sweet malt with relatively little aftertaste followed by a clean finish. A very light bodied beer, the flavor is a bit shy but I wouldn’t call it watery by any means. Quite smooth in the mouth. Best suited for hot summer beer-drinking. There are lots of more expen$ive beers that get a lesser, and sometimes VERY LESSER rating. Brownie points for good value.
