| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Aug 31, 2008 Bottle that I was given at a party in Maastricht, so not sure how accurate my rating will be! Yellowy straw with a thin bubbly white head. Malty, almost brackish, with some hoppiness, and a dry straw undertone. Mouth is quite bitter, grassy, straw, basement, quite normal. Reasonably well rounded palate, but nothing to brag about. lowg (123), Scarborough, Ontario, Canada

Similar to Heineken, slightly more enjoyable though since there was not as much skunk and priced better as well. iammadeofjelly (183), Liverpool, Merseyside, England

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 1/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jun 13, 2007 Don’t ya just love those green bottles? Date code 1719, aged well! My bottle did not say pilsner on it, it said Bavaria Holland Beer. Sometimes these out of country labels are difficult to ID for a rating. Pop the lid and there is immediately a short pungent veggie cabbage aroma. Once poured it mellows into a simple, clean and perhaps sweet smell. Looks like any other ubiquitous pale yellow American lager. Taste is a little pinchy, like an instigating pilsner. A small back of throat mild bitter linger hangs for a while. Good medium carbonation. Has a very thin froth on top for a head. Stacks up well against American pale lagers and perhaps even pilsners. Overall not bad but could have a few more manners. For a lager it is too much and for a pilsner it is not enough. After a few chugs there is this industrial hint of alcohol lurking around on the back of the tongue.

Sixer of 12 oz green bottles from local Kroger.Pretty good skunk at first pour that dissipated. Pale and honey malt aroma with light noble hop character. Clear light straw with small white head. Light pale/pilsner malt flavor with some honey and graininess, noble hop character with a touch of a solvent alcohol note. Light body with dry finish.
