The problem was that it seems somewhat astringent. It does have an unusual sort of a skunky smell and I am not sure if it is truly skunky or what. The only interesting thing about this beer is the hint of citrus in the aftertaste. I guess you could say this one has more in common with Mexican beer than it does with most European beer. donrajin (233), Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, USA

(as Tesco Premium Lager, 5%) A clear, slightly pale golden beer topped by a small, white head. Grainy and malty on the nose, quite sweetish, with a touch of fruits. Malty-sweet, grainy and quite weak flavor with a quite pleasant bitterness. The bitterness is actually the best part of this beer, else it’s too grainy and sweet, also in the finish. Medium body. Decent, and sort of quenching even though it’s on the sweet side. Don’t see any reason to re-visit though. (081220) oldrtybastrd (1846), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA

There was still room for the 3 inch pure foam head to crest at the top. A perfect pour if I may idulge myself a bit! Aroma was of VERY faint hops. First taste was of foam and water, Second gulp was all water with barley detectable traces of Malt. Zero aftertaste. This beer definitely looks better than it tastes! There’s nothing memorable here that would cause me to buy it again. RaphaelN (195), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

Touch of bitterness present in the mild hop presence on the palette. Nose is bread and malt. Thin and not very well craft. Gregis (1135), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Oct 1, 2007 Pours a sparkling clear gold with tons of rising bubbles and a loose, frothy white head that diminishes quickly. Decent lacing. Skunk on the initial pour; shocker given the green glass. Given time, however, the aroma clears to reveal a lightly sweet macro-esque lager nose with just a whisper of dry grass in the background. Light-bodied and slick with a dry, lightly bitter and somewhat metallic finish. A sweet malt front with a lightly bitter end that lingers far too long for my liking. For a lager, it’s not awful, but it certainly doesn’t inspire me to drink another.
