33 cl bottle, generously shared by Tom Nickle at O’Briens. Pours golden clear with a small white head. Very different and intriguing aroma, sweet and fresh spring flowers, some citrus notes, very light spice and a bit of soap. Sweet and floral in the flavor, fresh spring soap, bit of orange and pleasant hoppiness in the finish. Smooth, medium body with gentle carbonation.

Bottle (thanx to Bierkoning): Deep golden coloured, mid-sized, lacing off-white head; aromatic, spicy hoppy nose like fresh hay (+ other spices), sweet malt too; slightly sweetish flavour, medium bodied; lingering spicy, hoppy and caramelly finish. A goodie........

bottle 33 cl, expiration dec 2007. Pours a dark golden (more like copper) with a small white head and an aroma of spices (coriande), grass and yeast. The taste is dominated by yeast, with hints of banana, citrus and salmiak. The finish is a bit sweet and a bit bitter, a pretty good bock

Golden colour, white lasting head. Spicy aroma. Light malty, anise, fresh. Alcohol cut through flavors, not disturbing. Nice spring bock.

Small white head, pale orange, clear beer. Orange, kumquat, Mandarine Napoléon, sherry - very nice nose, actually, and a bit cheesy (guess oxydation). Very sweet, taste, some citrus, but more amandine/roasewater or frangipane. A bit too sweet, still liqueurish, enhanced by the heavy spicing. Finish is rather empty. Very slick MF, slightly oily and bit watery. Great nose, but the rest is not really following.
Tasted a bit after the BBd. As this beer is meant to be drunk very fresh, it will be shortly retasted in a young version.
New version ’07, fresh: Much less (!) pleasing aroma, overwhelmed by coriander and another spice - aniseed, no doubt. Taste is sweet, but the perfumey franchipane-like flavours are held in check better. Some caramel(malts) are obvious. The spices are better blended in the taste, but only when the beer is drunk cold. Warming up, it becomes a shambles of spices. Moral: I prefer the aged one...
