WHitish yellow body with a thick head--ornage dominated the aroma, also consisting of wheat, from the start. Orange creamsicle flavor with some stale bursts of cap/cap wrapper ting. A bit of banana to mix with the wheat as well. Flavor was not continuous, but erupted after periods of watery nothingness. The creamsicle taste became more noticeabl with aeration and appeared in aroma as well. Just looking now--I am amazed the alcohol content was so high--would have never guessed. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 21, 2003 Orange with a small tan head; not very aromatic, but a slight dry herb and underbrush aroma is present.Dryish, drying on the palate but with a flinty, stony stonefruit thing going on, but not very fruity, more stone-y...I like it but it might not be for everyone. The higher than normal for wit alcohol level is fitting, wish there was a more complex version of this beer, like, say, IN A CAN like Wittekereke. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 11, 2003 Updated: Jun 15, 2007re-rate: Cloudy tan colour. Aroma is more to the footy, mushroomy yeast side of things than to anything else, though there is a bit of doughy (there’s that yeast again) malt. Fresh, somewhat biscuity, malt character with a hint of spice and florals. The yeast is toned down quite a bit on the palate, but still lends a bit more foot than I want, like background feedback on my CD. Slight notch higher. DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 28, 2002 This brewery is trying to create mass confusion with their labels! Mine looks exactly like the label for ’Kuurnse Witte’, except it’s called ’Witte Ezel’ and is 6.5% ABV. Strange. Pale, nice lacy, foamy head. Rich yeasty smell. Breadish flavor, quite malty and extremely dry. An extreme version of the style - if Stone produced a Witte, this would be it! I wouldn’t describe the finish as dry - it’s downright ’thirsty’.
