| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 18, 2006 From a dated bottle: Different from most Belgian bruins. Aromas and flavors overwhelmed by grapes, more like a lambic than a bruin. "Lively" carbonation and dark pour. Not even close to what I expected, but in the long run, a very unique and enjoyable experience. OldMrCrow (1198), Seattle, Washington, USA

Explodes out of the bottle with a geyser of brown foam, pouring caramel brown with a tan head into my glass. The aroma is a somewhat unpleasant, almost infected-smelling, dominated by malt vinegar. The flavor is actually not half-bad: less vinegary than expected from the aroma, bits of grape bubblegum, some cherry lambic, a bitter woody finish. The palate lies well on the thin side, to the point that one is a little disappointed with each sip.
Curious mix of flavors but otherwise mediocre.

The aroma has some light oak cherries, yeasty apples along with caramel and cheese. Lively carbonation. Flavours of fruit and oak cherries. Mildly tartness. and as it warms there are caramel flavours. Pretty decent.
