Bottle. Very high creamy lasting beige head. Clear ruby body. Strawberry aroma. Not the expected sweetness more like grapefruit with caramel and pleasant carbonation.

(Rating #574)

Bottled. Clear, brown ale with a nice creamy, beige head. Mild aroma with some caramel and sourness. Flavor has malt, spices and a hint of acidity. Thin body. A decent, but quite boring beer. (060704)

From a dated bottle: Different from most Belgian bruins. Aromas and flavors overwhelmed by grapes, more like a lambic than a bruin. "Lively" carbonation and dark pour. Not even close to what I expected, but in the long run, a very unique and enjoyable experience.

From the bottle.

Explodes out of the bottle with a geyser of brown foam, pouring caramel brown with a tan head into my glass. The aroma is a somewhat unpleasant, almost infected-smelling, dominated by malt vinegar. The flavor is actually not half-bad: less vinegary than expected from the aroma, bits of grape bubblegum, some cherry lambic, a bitter woody finish. The palate lies well on the thin side, to the point that one is a little disappointed with each sip.

Curious mix of flavors but otherwise mediocre.

Bottle. pours a brown-copper body with a large, fluffy, off-white head. The aroma has some light oak cherries, yeasty apples along with caramel and cheese. Lively carbonation. Flavours of fruit and oak cherries. Mildly tartness. and as it warms there are caramel flavours. Pretty decent.
