Commercial Description:
Dark ale, fermented in the bottle.
Inspired by a Breughel painting, “The Flemish Proverbs” (1559), in which several Flemish proverbs are depicted amongst which is the expression "He’s a pilaarbijter" ("pillar biter"), which means, ’He’s a hypocritical man.’

Great nose of candied fruit, herbs, and spice. On the palate the carbonation stings so much that it overpower’s the ale’s flavors, which I barely make out as dull fruit malt and a trace of hops. Could have been a lot better.

Deep mahogony brown pour with a very tall light cream head. I’m getting some vanilla and light caramel notes, along with some light, sweet cocoa, although the overall sensation is relatively weak. The aroma leaves an interesting menthol tickle in the nostrils. The flavor is disappointingly bland and almost more like a brown ale than a Belgian. The finish is a bit more interesting, with a faint touch of raisin and cinnamon coming through. Overall, far too bland to be considered a good Belgian Ale.

Brown ale, hazy, with a nice thick moka head. Burned caramel aroma with lactic notes and vanilla. In mouth, sweet burned malt with acid points and nice nuttyness. Mondial 2005.

(Bottle) Opened as a gusser and lost half the bottle. Pours an amber-brown body with a large beige head. Aroma of raisins, black currants, and florals. Flavor of malt and dark fruits with a dry finish.

Color is lgt red and brown with huge amount of foam created. Aroma is smells bland and almost like plastic but also has yeast as well. The flavor is boring and bland with little yeast and malt. Only thing cool about this beer is that it came with a nice glass.

Bottle. Dark brown colour with a huge light brown , rocky head. Aroma is sweet and sour with roasted malts. Taste has brown sugar, caramel, toasted malts, dark fruits. Quite light, medium carbonation. Tasty stuff.

Light toffee nose with some toasted bread aroma. Dark dark brown color, sponge-like beige head. Candy sweet caramel malt, nutty with a yeasty background. Thinish. Leaves a sweet dollop on the lips at the end. Good.

Dark brown color with hints of read and a spongey head. Almost smoked nose with some malt. Toasted malt, bit sweet taste. Thin bodied.
