Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. Flavors are skunky and canny. I do however like the expansive texture of soft cloth on the palate that it creates. The finish is bittered mildly leaving a waxy fruit flavor to enjoy. alaskanwarren (286), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 16, 2006 Pale golden with a white super-frothy head. The head diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is light, malty and a tiny bit floral. First taste is crisp, metallic and slightly bitter. The metal is probably the most prominant flavor, especially in the finish. Further tastes are just to bitter and almost sour. I’m not a fan. Too bad, I wanted to like this. Ernest (4501), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Usually less fermented (earlier pasteurisation) so the beer is sweeter and lower in ABV. But, in Belgium, the other main difference is that the beer is served in 33 cl, 'staid of the habitual 25 cl Pils. It has all but vanished, and most breweries today just fill 33cl of Pils. This is an exception.
Dark gold; thick white, collapsing head, quite lacey. Herbal nose, even some hops - rest is predictably malty. Taste is sweet malt, clean & crisp. Faint corn taste. Slight slickness in mouthfeel, makes me think of corn again. Aftertaste gets more corn, as well as some sweet dough. As I said, apart from the hopnose, very predictable. It is very good in its style - but nowhere exciting.
