Commercial Description:
Huguenots may have originated the style as they traveled through France to Flanders, having first mentioned it in the 1600s. During their time, there were said to be seven hundred weissbier breweries in Berlin. Later, in 1809, Napoleon and his troops identified Berliner Weisse as the Champagne of the North. He requested the beer be served w/syrup to cut its extreme level of acidity. Bayrischer Bahnhof’s interpretation is a slightly softer, more mellow version of the “Berliner Weisse” style with a beautiful balance of tartness, fruitness, and sweetness.

Draft at gaslight. This light gold beer with a thin white head is terrible without the getrankesirup that was added by the bartender after telling me about adding this raspberry syrup to the beer it became tolerable but obviously sweet raspberry as one would imagine. The soultion is more like a 3.2 the base beer is more like...

Clear yellow color with short lived white head. Aromas of sourdough and lemon. Flavors of bready yeast, lemon, and a pleasant sour finish. A respectable beer.

Yeasty, rich aroma. Nice, light lemony flavor. Quite light on the palate, very drinkable.

My first Berliner Weisse; bottle at the Stone World Bistro. Not as bracingly sour as I was led to believe, probably just this example. Pours with a largish, rocky, white head that goes in a relativly short amount of time. Clear yellow untill you get the yeast at the end of the bottle. Aroma is sour and tart with a bit of honey. Taste is sour with hay and a bit of wierd honey notes in the finish. Water like mouthfeel with a large amount of carbonation.

Pours like a sparkling white wine, clear straw colored with huge carbonation bubbles and a sparkling head. A bright sour bready aroma, tart with honey and lemons as well. Sweet and sour flavor. Yeasty and bready also, but mostly very tart and tangy. A little bit of honey and good amount of lemon. Lots of wheat in the finish, grassy. Its very straight forward which makes it somewhat useless for this style =p. Finely carbonated medium body.

Bananas and honey, alot of honey on the nose. Pours cloudy pale white, this might be the whitest beer i’ve ever seen! It pours with a very thin white head. Honey malts, with some citrus, very tart almost salty flavor, reminds me a little of their Gose. Very drinkable and refreshing in the Florida heat!

an interesting light summer; it has the typical yellow hazy appearance topped with a moderate layer of white foam. the aroma is slightly sweet with hint of citrus. it has a fruity flavor but is pretty dry for a hefe, an overall enjoyable drink.
