Commercial Description:
Huguenots may have originated the style as they traveled through France to Flanders, having first mentioned it in the 1600s. During their time, there were said to be seven hundred weissbier breweries in Berlin. Later, in 1809, Napoleon and his troops identified Berliner Weisse as the Champagne of the North. He requested the beer be served w/syrup to cut its extreme level of acidity. Bayrischer Bahnhof’s interpretation is a slightly softer, more mellow version of the “Berliner Weisse” style with a beautiful balance of tartness, fruitness, and sweetness.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of KimJohansen. Pours a cloudy, greyish pale yellow with a dense, creamy white head leaving some laces. A somewhat lactic astringency in the nose. Light body, lightly tart and vaguely fruity with a dry finish. Heavy carbonation. 201008

Thanks to Solan for the bottle! NP10 Pt 3.0 Slightly hazy gold pour and a fizzy white head that fizzles down to a fine film. Thin bodied, easy drinker, and refreshing. Tart green apple upfront. Clean and dry finish. Very underrated !

Brewed in Germany..... Pours a slightly hazy yellow color with a dissipating small white head. There sure is tons of carbonation in this style. Aroma of spices, musty yeast, and citrus. The taste is tart and fruity, such as lemons, and oranges. The mouthfeel is spritzy and thin and very refreshing, pretty interesting stuff.

Very whitish yellow body with a thin white head that settles to a ring quickly. Musty, yeasty spicy wheat funk. Taste is light citrus and sweet funkiness, lemons.

Bottle. Pours a light straw body with a lot of carb, bubbles shooting up the sides of the glass for at least five minutes, never forming much head. Aroma of lightly tart, mandarin oranges, wheat. A nice tartness in the flavor, a hint of sweetness, fruity mellow orange aftertaste. Dry, bubbly, quite thirst quenching.

Champagne coloured, virtually no head. Aroma is yeasty and fruity. Flavour is champagne-like sour, light fruits and watery.

Bottle from Der Doppelbock, thanks! Apple and lemon in the aroma. Moderately sour flavor with apple and lemon. Hint of traubenzucker. Very refreshing and light. Delicous beer!
