Handbottle 50 cl. Courtesy of kappeldav123. Pours a cloudy golden with an off-white head. Buttery nose. Medium body, sweet banana accents and a little harsh phenols. 231109

Unclear hazy medium orange color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate yeasty, fruity, banana notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate orange shell bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to ’medium to full’, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft. [20090702]

Draught at the brewpub. The color is murky, dark orange, with a brownish hue and the head is huge and creamy. The aroma has notes of clove, banana, wheat and caramel. The flavour has sweetness, notes of clove, yeast, banana, wheat, a touch of caramel and it ends with a spicy bite. The harmony is very nice indeed – it’s a truly nice weissbier.

On tap at the brewery. Looks good in the glass. Modest malty aroma. Not as fruity as a normal hefeweizen, but interesting. A little bit dry in the finish - not bad!

Biggish creamy white head with larger bubbles. Hazy, almost opaque, dark orange body. Very faint acidic hoppy aroma. Taste is sweet deep caramelly watery malts with yeast and hop notes. There is also a taste rather like strawberries to it. Nicely balanced. Dryish aftertaste. Nice! (0.3l on tap.)

On tap at Bayerischer Bahnhof. Nice rich dark orange with a foamy head. Coriander and berries. Bit of sour, which is always a nice addition to a wheat beer.

Whoa, this is underrated. Tap in the Biergarten. Cloudy dark orange with a rich, lacing, forthy white head – this brewer is great for looks. Smells of coriander and wheat, yeast and sourness. Tastes very spicy, fruitiness works its way in only subtly after the initial taste. Mildly creamy, could use some citrus and/or banana. Yeasty, wheaty, and coriandery, pleasant – as good as any of the widely exported German Hefes, but no better.

Lemon, ginger, cloves and chewing gum aroma; neutral taste with cloves, basil and banana aromas; spicy wheat finish with cloves and banana aromas. An very well-made dark wheat beer that is very, very similar to Schneider Weisse. Very subtly spicy, with an undertone of banana that really tops it off. It’s this beer in particular that convinces me they have a very skillful brewer.
