Commercial Description:
Leipziger Gose is a top-fermenting wheat beer {60% wheat, 40% barley malt} with coriander, salt, and lactic acid bacteria added in the boil. It is a 4.6% alc/vol eclectic beer whose name evokes a close relationship to the renowned Lambic/Geuze breweries in the Valley Senne nearby Brussels, Belgium.

Looks murky, hazy, gold with bit of white head that sticks around forever. Smells like lemon and lots of vomit. Palate is nice with good carbonation. Tastes like lots of puke, getting stronger as it warms. Think this one might have gone bad, but given the lactic acid bacteria, not entirely sure. Either way, this is going down the drain.

Bottle. Thanks to Kkearn. Pours a deep hazy golden body with thin head. Aroma is light grain, wheat, spices. Flavor is bland and bbitter, grainy, slightly acidic. Spices were subdued.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy pale golden with a small but lasting white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is slightly acidic with notes of wheat, coriander, and light citrus. Taste is slightly tart and has a mild lemony finish with a hint of salt. Medium thin mouthfeel and mild bittterness. Good.

On tap at HDG. Part 3 of an indetemerinate length ratings miniseries entitled "Getting back beastiefan2k’s buddyship." A very cloudy pale yellow brew with a slight bit of head. Aroma full of coriander with a hint of lactic tartness. Taste very much echoes the aroma. The light tartness is very welcome. Couldn’t quite dig out the salt that was in the description, though I’m not sure if that’s a bad thing. Has a light, spritzy mouthfeel, great for these summer months. An interesting beer for sure, and I must say, a good one.

Tap @ HDG 2nd Anniversary. Poured into a 7 oz goblet. Color is a very murky, deep, thick yellow with no clarity. Amazing how a color like this could hide so much of the beer. Small head faded into nothingness and made the beer look absolutely dead. Aroma was strong, particularly on the lemon aspect.with a light tartness. Taste definitely had a salty aspect, seemed like mineral-saltiness. Plenty of lemon in there and a tea-like aspect (damn you JoeMcPhee, its got to be coriander). Its a very light and refreshing beer yet far from watery. Feels very nice on the cheeks, present but not overbearing. The tartness peppered throughout the beer is not acidic at all. Very quaffable and if I could get fresh bottles of this I would probably drink it all summer long.

16.9oz bottle. Hazy orange-golden with a moderate off-white head. Really nice spice, lemon, yeast, earth, caramel and honey aroma. Flavor is a bit disappointing based on the aroma. Malt, spice, yeast and orange up front, with a dry, lactic finish. Yeasty and thin bodied. Really unique.

On tap @ Coles Buffalo NY. Strange brew. sweet, sour, citrusy. Almost white wine-ish. Hard to describe. Salt flavor not as evident as description would lead you to believe.

Bottle; poured a clear, orange-amber with smallish white head. Aroma of salt, citrus and and caramel. Really different flavor and palate combination. Medium body with high carbonation. Flavor was salty, but not a turn off in itself. Strong malt flavor; mostly caramel and honey. A little tartness, but not too strong. Dry finish. Don’t have too strong of feelings either away; not bad, but not something I’d actively seek out again.
