Commercial Description:
Leipziger Gose is a top-fermenting wheat beer {60% wheat, 40% barley malt} with coriander, salt, and lactic acid bacteria added in the boil. It is a 4.6% alc/vol eclectic beer whose name evokes a close relationship to the renowned Lambic/Geuze breweries in the Valley Senne nearby Brussels, Belgium.

Lightly hazed amber with a cream colored head that began large and settled to a thick film. Caramel malt in the nose with coriander, mineral water and lemon. Multi-dimensional flavor starting sweetly malted, moving to middle hopcit and ending bitter, lemony and salty. Creamy mouthfeel with a soft, effervescent tickle. It took me a while to warm up to it, but it ended quite enjoyably. (I just wish mine came in that great lookin’ bottle as pictured.)

Bottled at RBESG 2005. Pours a hazy golden, with a thin white head. Aroma is wheat, some coriander and citrus. Taste is sweet wheaty, slightly sour, spicy and just a tad salty.

Funky shaped bottle. Aroma is very spicy with lots of coriander and a bit of sourness present. Some citrus lemon-like notes. Mildly musty. Smells like a hefe. Pale blonde color that is moderately hazy with a huge white head. Very fruity and acidic to start with lots of lemons. Astringent to start, then turning a nice and creamy malty-good finish. There is citrus and lots and lots of floral notes in this beer. Refreshing and crisp. Not worth the $13 I paid for it, but it was a different shaped bottle with a beer in it that I never heard of. Obviously it wasn’t as rare as I thought it was.

Head disappears quickly very light light yellowish murky color. Lemony coriander taste. Very different then anything I have had before. It has lambic like qualities with it’s sourness. Has the wheat beer taste with a barley bite. Very unique. I like it!

RBESG05: Cloudy lemon with a white head. Tart, herby nose. Very sweet and fruity in start, yet completel dry in the finish. Really complex and quite refreshing.

Bottle. RBESG -05. Hazy yellow. Estery nose - banana and clove. Subtle saltiness, the salt hardly shows. Slight citrusy with a wheat profile.
