Appearance was a gold/copper color with a nice lacy head. Palate was light and smooth. It tasted salty, herbal, coriander. It was very refreshing. I could drink this all day long (if it weren’t expensive). This really hit the spot. I’d definitely get this again. Silphium (2139), Haslett, Michigan, USA

Earthy hops aroma with notes of caramel and flower petals. Hoppy flavor with very light malt presence, salty, lightly buttery, and with hints of spice. Touches of biscuit and grassy hops. Overall quite thin-bodied and quite tame, almost adjuncty. Certainly doesn’t do anything to evoke a "close relationship to the renowned Lambic/Gueze breweries" as the description states. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 9, 2005 Pours a hazy red/amberous color. Aroma of appples, salt and honey. Flavor is wheaty with salt and honey coming in. Palate is somewhat thin and dry, VERY interesting brew. Thanks to 1FastSTI for sharing this one! DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 8, 2005 Slightly hazy amber body, white head. Salty, dark wheat bread crust and cardomon in the aroma. Dry malty flavor with leafy hops, salty peanut shells and sweaty socks. A unique and funky beer, just not a good kind of lambic funky. AndersR (194), Århus, Denmark

Salt not all that dominant, in taste. Slightly acidic and kind of thin watery finish. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 19, 2004 I know my bottle didn’t look anything like the picture, but more of a traditional German 16 oz’er. My first foray into a Gose style and unless there are better representations of the style, probably my last. Pours cloudy gold with a tight head and some lacing. First whiff gives me spices, wheat and lemon zest. Taste is both sour and yeasty without much maltiness (or hop presence for that matter). Flavors are clove and a dryness I can’t describe. A unique beer for sure but I wouldn’t drink this again. So it Gose. BeerLimey (1873), California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 10, 2004 A style I always wanted to try since I read about it in MJ’s Beer Companion. Densely clouded amber hue, floating black particles, fine streams of carbonation. Clean malty wheat aroma, mild clove, fairly peppery and salty. Pretty clean malty palate with mild banana touches, salty especially in the finish. I love salty flavors but overall the beer just needs a little something else from somewhere. Unique in style but doesn’t really stand out. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 7, 2004 Burning paper (?), salty aroma with some citrusy notes. Intriguing and bizarre. Hazy dull amber with shy, white, fully-diminishing head. Sharp pear-like flavour is vegetal and has salty and sufurous notes to it with a sour finish. Smooth fair carbonation but light almost watery body. And our bottle didn’t look nearly as pretty as the picture! Sampled with MartinT, muzzlehatch and Rastacouere.
